Originally from western New York, I retired from the U.S. Navy in 2007 after 25 years as a machinist. While serving I did a tour as an Instructor and really enjoyed it so much so that I earned my bachelor's degree from Southern Illinois University in Workforce Education. Upon retirement I started teaching for Tidewater Community College and then switched to teaching high school CTE courses in Hampton Virginia.
In 2013 I relocated to Roanoke with my wife of 40 years, Susan and began teaching in Roanoke County. First at Hidden Valley Middle School and for the last 10 years the Burton Center for Arts and Technology. I also Adjunct as an Instructor for Virginia Western Community College teaching Basic Machining and CAD/CAM courses. I became a coach/mentor for FTC Team #8094, Robotic Rampage in 2022 and have now volunteered to help with FRC Team #10004, Star City Area Robotics (SCAROB).
My hobbies include golfing, building things, and working with the students. When I retire my plans are to hike the Appalachian trail and then spend more time with my two sons and two grandsons!
